Short: FAST File Transfer from Bridgeboard to AMIGA
Author: Jorg Schuler
Uploader: Jorg Schuler (Jorg.Schuler@stud.uni-karlsruhe.de)
Type:
I guess there are a lot of people out there who own an AMIGA 2000
equipped with a bridgeboard in order to be able to read and write 1.44
MB DOS diskettes.
To transfer files between the two systems you would usually use
"aread" and "awrite" which come along with the board. At least with
the Commodore 286 bridgeboard these programs have one major
disadvantage: they are breathtakingly slow!
The Janus software, however, provides a way to use AMIGA files as
virtual partitions by using the "jlink" programm.
COPYING FILES TO THE AMIGA SIDE THROUGH THIS PATH IS ABOUT SIX
TIMES AS FAST.
PDir enables you to re-extract the files from the partition file
on the AMIGA side. A 1.1 MB file could thereby be transfered in 1
minute 25 seconds instead of 8 minutes by using awrite.
The program is fully functional and not a crippled version (V1.0).
